Who I am
My name is Jordan Cranford and my career as an educator began in 2011 when I started as a program aide for the Kennedy Krieger Institute at the high school on their Greenspring campus in Baltimore. Over the years I moved from that position to an Assistant Teacher in a middle school classroom in the LEAP program at Kennedy Krieger.
During Covid, I had to leave my job as a teacher due to the difficulties of working in schools at that time. I came back to teaching in 2022 after taking a year off. On my return, I worked in a kindergarten and infant/pre-k classroom teaching Montessori as an Assistant, and then a Lead Teacher.
From there I moved to a new school that used the Reggio method. Although the method of teaching changed, the age group remained the same as I was still working with infants and preschoolers.
While working as a teacher, I have been attending classes at NDMU in Baltimore and, as of December 2024, I graduated with a GPA in the top 1.5% of my class and currently maintain membership to the Sigma Tau Delta English International Honors Society. Next year I will start at UMD in their graduate school to get a Master’s in Library Sciences.
My experience in education provides me with a breadth of skills to utilize while helping you achieve a higher level of literacy, building and nourishing a passion for literature and maintaining access to the knowledge it provides will help to bridge the gap between the cold mechanics of essay writing and the joy of storytelling.
