Holistic education is an approach to learning which focuses on all aspects of an individual, rather than just their academic or intellectual development. This means that while the content is important and student progress is the goal, the shape of that progress should be dictated, in part, by the learner. Considerations for their self-confidence in their abilities and maintaining a desire to engage with the learning materials and process are core aspects to my approach to teaching.

Poetry
Poetry is more than just a way to express emotional complexities. Poems tell stories of heartbreak, triumph, wonder, joy, exploration, war, and even the mundane. Poetry can teach us about the world and ways to process emotions, but it can also teach us who we are.
Language Arts
Without the basics of Language Arts, any writer will inevitably hit a wall. Being familiar with the basics of crafting written works, things like sentence structure, composition, grammar, and punctuation can help you get past that wall and achieve reading and writing at higher levels.

our company
My name is Jordan Cranford and the majority of my teaching experience for children under 6 is in Montessori and Reggio methods, while my middle school and high school experience is common-core or using modified methods based on individual IEPs. I prefer an approach to education that considers a person’s education not just in terms of memorizing facts to pass a test, but by instilling confidence in the learner to understand the tools at their disposal and when and how to use them to succeed as a writer, as a student, or as a reader.
